Die Optimierung des Bewegungsbereichs bei Übungen zur Maximierung des Muskelwachstums ist ein beliebtes Diskussionsthema. Mit der Entstehung neuer Forschungsergebnisse bleiben häufig weitere Fragen zu den grundlegenden Mechanismen und der Anwendung des Hypertrophietrainings offen. Mechanische Spannung ist als Haupttreiber der Hypertrophie bekannt. Daher ist es logisch, dass das Training eines Muskels mit größeren Bewegungsbereichen mehr Spannung erzeugt, was zu einem stärkeren hypertrophen Reiz führt. Obwohl dies auf den ersten Blick Sinn macht, ist es letztlich eine unbefriedigende Antwort. Auf tieferen Analyseebenen kann mechanische Spannung allein (oder zumindest unser aktuelles Modell) einige der beobachteten Ergebnisse, die wir sowohl in der Literatur als auch in Einzelfällen sehen, nicht erklären. Ziel dieses Artikels ist es, einen kurzen Überblick über das Thema zu geben, der ROM-Diskussion einen Kontext zu geben und praktische Empfehlungen für Ihr eigenes Training zu bieten.
